Kimberose

Since the French band’s eponymous singer debut in 2013, her soulful sounds unites her native country and America. When she pushes her voice to higher ranges we can reminisce Amy Winehouse’s warm tone, Ayọ or even Selah Sue – pulling off the same tough job to bring soul to pop!

I got to know her when she came out with her brilliant Kissed By The Sun collab with Sofiane Pamart. Her songs quickly became one of my classics, her splendid voice and lyrics magnifying Pamart’s melody. Yet is is with her latest and sophomore album OUT in 2021 (re-edited in a Deluxe versions with 4 more songs, nailing graceful renditions of Billie Holiday and Etta James) that she achieved what she calls her “artistic coming-out” after her first success with first album Chapter One gave her the confidence to be more daring and live up to the artist she’s always dreamt to be. My favorite tracks on this album are: Escape, Sober, By The Sun, Pull Me Down, We Never Say Goodbye, L’Envie de Valser.

It’s an ear hug, satisfying, warm and emotional. Go listen if you haven’t yet:
