Honey Dijon

So much to say yet it could be all about just listening – and shaking it!

I saw her first when she played in 2018 at Frankfurt’s finest Robert Johnson club. My friend Anita who then used to work there introduced me the artist backstage for a quick meet and greet where we had a very friendly chat with her and her manager. The yet to be Beyoncé producer made a remarked performance for me when she mixed Motown’s Stevie Wonder with Blaze, Chris Nazuka, or even Mike Dunn. She showed me the side of electro I wanted to hear, bringing the gaps I needed. What a marvel and a sturdy acumen for her tracks curation. At this level she entered for me then the pantheon of music cooks that master the recipe of music like a Michelin starred chef would. If she lets it simmer, it’s only for better stirring that beat pot to serve you better with finely balanced samples, tweaks, mixes and loops. Her techno identity doesn’t fail when it comes to it either. And again, she is this artist that’s at the crossroad of genres, embodying a new generation’s values and sexual revendications. Her bold approach to sharing her underground and queer culture makes her a strong LGBTQI+ icon and advocate of the dance floors. Surely Beyoncé picked her to produce her Renaissance album hits for this reason too.

Merci Honey hun’!
